In service to the end. Community mourns the loss of a selfless helper.
Everyone who knew Robert Gibb (Bob) will remember him as a man
who was always putting others before himself. Alas Bob was killed
while helping to raise money for children with cancer. The 58 yo was
taking part in in the 2009 Ride for Eliza charity ride when he lost
control of his motorbike near Carlshrue, near Lancefield. The tragic
accident marked the end of a life spent in gentle kindness to those in need.

Brother Steven said Bob was a hero to his family, he never thought
about himself he was always trying to help others… anytime there was
a charitable event he was always first to sign up. He used to take toys
into the city every christmas, the fact he died doing this eptimises how
beautiful his life was. I am more proud of him then i could express.
Bob loved nothing better then riding with his mates… and was
a safe and accomplished rider with 40 years of experience.

The Cancer Council paid tribute to Bob at the 2009 Lancefield
Relay for Life and the Lancefield Motorcycle Poker Run committee
paid there solemn respects to Bob and his family and expressed
our sympathy on behalf of all who participated in the 2009 ride.
God Bless you Bob, RIP mate….

Gibby was probably my mate of longest standing -40 years and to lose him last year was the hardest thing and still hurts all his mates. We were like brothers and always together in our earliest biking years. To have him remembered this way is really special. Thanks guys, Snowy
20.02.2010. In memory of our mate Gibby Gnome , today we rode, tonight we remember. The Gabdiyes.
